Are you interested in getting to know others who share your love of animals while helping people learn about exotic species? Reid Park Zoo's Teen Volunteer program and Facebook group helps 13-17 year olds gain real zoo experience for a whole year.
Volunteers are required to attend a once-yearly orientation and then are asked to commit to at least 6 hours per month of volunteer activities at the zoo. Activities may include:
-Using exhibit artifacts, like bones, feathers and other items, to engage zoo visitors in conversation about the exhibits
-Patrolling the Zoo and helping to answer guest questions
-Assist with special events and activities
-and more!
Sign-up for orientation is only open three months per year, so check out the Reid Park Zoo's website to learn more today.
