Shadowing a vet is awesome. I have been lucky to shadow the veterinarians at Loving Hands Animal Clinic and Pet Resort in Alpharetta, GA, for the past four years. It is fun being around the animals, and I learn something new every time. I have seen dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles and more. Once, I helped rats recover from pneumonia by holding them and keeping them calm. I even got to help with an ultrasound once! Sometimes, there are foster animals that I get to interact with and keep company. Shadowing has really helped me on the path to become a veterinarian. It is cool to see what it is really like to be a vet. If you get an opportunity to become a shadow, take it. It will help you in the long run, plus you get to work with interesting animals!
