It has been a long year of quarantines and virtual classrooms for so many of you. We’ve read your emails, messages, and posts. We know that you are anxious to get out of the house and start volunteering. So if you’re looking for a place to get veterinary and animal experience this summer, we’ve got something exciting to share…
Merck Animal Health has partnered with us to offer three scholarships to the Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine Junior VET Camp.
The Become a Veterinarian Camp Contest begins on March 1st. Grand Prize Winners will receive a scholarship to the Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine Junior VET Camp.
This camp will be held July 11th – 16th in Auburn, Alabama. Camp participants will experience campus-life while residing in Auburn's resident dormitories, eating at campus dining facilities, and enjoying evening social and recreational activities. Campers will have 24/7 counselor supervision.
The contest will be open to students entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade in the fall of 2021.
To enter, we will ask you to tell us your story in 300 words or less. Just share your personal story on why you want to become a veterinarian and what you have done so far to explore your dream. You could tell us:
We’ll also want to see a photo with you helping animals or simply enjoying time with your favorite pet or animal friend.
We are so grateful to Merck Animal Health for partnering with us to provide this once-in-a lifetime opportunity to aspiring veterinarians.
The contest starts March 1st, so start writing your story today! I can’t wait to hear from all of you!

Is there anything like this that's open to people entering 9th grade in 2021?
Dr. Chris Carpenter
Yes. Auburn CVM has a senior vet camp!

But unfortunately, this year, we don't have a contest for this one.
